MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — James A. Campbell, 90, of Mount Vernon died Friday, Oct.1, 2010 at his home surrounded by his caring family. He was born on Feb. 13, 1920 in Dayton, the son of the late James M. and Florence (Postlewaite) Campbell. James was a retired industrial chemist for Mohawk Tire Co. in Helena-West Helena and was a Marine veteran of World War II. Campbell leaves his loving wife of 68 years, Lila Jean (Lidderdale) Campbell, his children, Bonnie (Bill) Lawhon of Mount Vernon, James (Dianna) Campbell of Elizabethtown, Ky., Rick (Cathy) Campbell of Helena and Chris (Kim) Campbell of Simpsonville, S.C.; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. The family will have a memorial service celebrating the life of James at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16 at the First Presbyterian Church, 102 North Gay Street in Mount Vernon. Memorial contributions may be made in Jim's memory to Hospice of the Charity of Choice.
