Was born on 5 Oct 1941 and educated at Charterhouse and Cranleigh. He went into business and recently moved from Aberdeenshire to Derby having spent several years in St John's, Newfoundland. He married first Valerie Poupard, daughter of Harold Poupard and Mary Catherine Theresa O'Carroll (1918 - 1972). He and Valerie had three sons: James Francis (3 Mar 64), Patrick John Dudley (27 Sep 66), and Guy Douglas Roy, (22 Jun 68). He later married Elizabeth Ann Chillingworth and adopted twins: Mary Elizabeth Lorna and Michael Thomas Alexander (25 Dec 77). A daughter, Amy Elizabeth Ishbel (81), died in infancy.
